Elle is the visionary behind Noir Studio, a brand that has transformed the world of customised tooth gems and Grillz into a true art form.

Elle’s unique approach has captured the attention of global brands like Nike and major publications such as Refinery29, Elle and Russh. Nike, in fact, reached out directly to her for custom Grillz to feature in a recent Air Max campaign.

With an ever-growing roster of high-profile clients, Elle continues to push the boundaries of her work. As she ventures into manufacturing gold charms and permanent jewellery, her vision for Noir Studio is expanding, with the goal of not only growing her brand but also empowering others to succeed in the world of tooth gems and personalised accessories, revolutionising the future of custom body adornments.

How did your journey into the world of tooth gems and Grillz begin? Was there a particular moment or inspiration that sparked the idea for Noir Studio?

I do cosmetic tattoo and have always been in the personal service and body modification industry. However, I discovered a greater passion for tooth gems because it brings joy to people, making them smile and feel happier once it's done. My original tattoo business was named Noir, inspired by the colour of the ink and my favourite wine, Pinot noir. Now Noir is more blinging.

Your work with global brands like Nike and recognition in Elle and Refinery29 are pivotal moments. Can you share how those opportunities came about, and how they’ve shaped the trajectory of Noir Studio?

Nike emailed me asking for a quote and a reference photo, and I was beyond excited since I had just started making Grillz. Seeing my Grillz on a billboard was really cool. Refinery29 was a pleasant surprise—I wasn’t expecting my business to be mentioned because no one contacted me. I'm incredibly grateful for all the support that encourage love and creative growth.

Who or what inspires your designs the most—whether it’s fashion, art, or even something unexpected?

My inspirations come spontaneously. The creative process may seem chaotic, but everything eventually falls into divine order. I like abstract thinking artists like Salvador Dali. He draws inspiration from the depth of his subconscious and brings it to the canvas. No boundaries or limitations. Blending the spiritual and material.

The entertainment industry is another major source of inspiration for me—the glitz and glamour, diamond rhinestones, and gold. I’m drawn to things that shine psychedelically in the dark.

As someone who’s constantly pushing boundaries, what are some new materials or techniques you’d love to experiment with in future designs? We know that you create permanent jewellery too—what's next?

I just received my 3-D scanner today and will be exploring more 3-D designing and resin printing techniques. With Grillz and tooth gems - we want more flash. I’m aiming to incorporate more diamonds settings into my work. More cash, more flash is the way haha.

I’m now manufacturing my own gold charms and will soon expand to permanent jewellery charms. The next big step is training more people in this field. More people should pursue tooth gems and permanent jewellery as their businesses, as this could revolutionise the personal accessory industry. The future is individual customisation.

If you could design a piece for any public figure or celebrity, who would it be, and what would that piece look like?

I’d love to design Grillz for Erykah Badu, using mother of pearl and yellow gold to complement her amazing collection.

I think Chrisean Rock and Blueface would look great with a matching set. Also Nicki Minaj.
