Lighting up major festivals like Rhythm and Vines, Beyond the Valley, Wine Machine and Field Day, Melbourne's own Mell Hall has swiftly become the go-to DJ for elite House acts such as Disclosure, Basement Jaxx, Folamour, Norman Jay, DJ Seinfeld, and Barry Can't Swim.
Under the infamous Club Sweat label, Mell has infused her unique remix style into tracks by David Penn, Milk & Sugar, and Torren Foot. Her standout remix of Stace Cadet and KLP's 2020 hit "Energy," released via Sony/Medium Rare Recordings, has garnered over 75 million streams on Spotify. Mell's remix portfolio continues to expand, now including notable artists such as Peking Duk, Northeast Party House, Set Mo, and Kye.
Her debut single "Knock Knock!" featuring Thandi Phoenix (2021) became a Disco classic, breaking the record for the longest-running #1 Aria Club Chart release by a female artist. Mell then collaborated with Italian Disco legend Babert on "Can't Stop Now" (2022), which topped the Beatport Nu Disco charts and secured the #2 spot for the year. Follow-up hits like "End of Time" (2022) and the EP "Bow Street/Disco Nap" (2023) further solidified her status.
Mell kicked off 2024 with "Closer," a House track that's been a club hit across Australia, received airplay on triple J Unearthed radio, and was featured on ABC's News Breakfast, followed by her latest track "Slow," released last month.
"For The Honeys Volume 37 is basically a mix of melodies that run through my head 24/7. Low Fi, Electro, Funk, Disco, Soul a little Housey with a (mostly) female lead vocal of empowerment, a relatable narrative, heartbreak and independence. Drawing on what I do daily as a Producer and Songwriter."
"I am a huge advocate for women in the Electronic scene and I truly strive everyday to keep that sense of community - lift one another up - and that my legacy will not just be about the music I write, but the influence and paths I can create for girls coming through and what I've learnt over the past 15 years!"
