For those who don't know, could you please tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Carolina De La Piedra aka Carolina Gasolina! I’m a DJ and I’m also the Assistant Booker for BBE and FOMO.
What was behind the inspiration for your mix?
TBH I was a little in my feels when I started this mix so that definitely comes through and sets the tone for the mix! It’s like the perfect mix to listen to while driving with your friends or cleaning your house!
Is this the kind of vibe we can expect from your sets currently?
Yeah kinda! I do incorporate a lot of old school music into my sets and there is definitely some old school bangers in this. I like to mix new with old. 90’s R&B and Rap played such a huge part of my music background.
What are you personally listening to at moment? Anything that is very high on rotation?
The Octavian Endorphins mixtape just came out so that’s on rotation. Also loving Megan Thee Stallion, Tierra Whack, Doja Cat and Rico!! So many boss bitches! I can’t deal.
Sneaker wise, 3- Stripes or Swoosh?
Is there a pair that you slept on and wished you had in your collection?
Mmmmmmm probably every single colourway of TN that I don’t have I'm sad about!
Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to tell us about?
Exciting yes! I’m working on FOMO2020 and we just announced Brockhampton and Octavian as part of our line up! The rest of our line up is so huge! I’m super excited about working on this and being a part of curating FOMO2020 and the booking process has been so incredible!
And lastly could you please tell us your favourite places in Sydney to:
Eat: Two Chaps in Marrickville is my favourite cafe in Sydney. It’s vegetarian and I’m not even vegetarian so that says a lot! It’s so good!
Shop: I really love SWOP on King Street in Newtown. It’s all really good quality recycled clothes that aren’t marked up like crazy. They also have a system where they buy your clothes off you for cash or store credit which makes things so much easier.
Party: Melbourne and Miami haha
Chill: In my room! It’s my little sanctuary where I jam out and practice my mixing. Isolation is key for me. It keeps me grounded and refreshed.
